The blazing summer sun
Lays bare even the feelings I wanted to hide.
The poisoned water on this side,
And the pure water over there —
They’ll never mix.
Kindness only pierces through my broken heart.
Even so, I want to keep watching you smile.
As the evening cicadas rain down,
My emotions rise with them.
In the sweat that runs down my back,
A touch of despair is mixed in.
That white hand reaching out
Could build an entire world.
If you’re going to throw it away,
Then crush it completely.
Take in the lukewarm wind
And blow away my tears along with it.
You understand, but ignore me —
It only makes me feel miserable.
The sparks never fade,
They keep burning endlessly.
Even my clouded hopes
Remain stuck to me, unable to fade.
At the end of the wavering heat haze,
I keep chasing after your back.
Pitying myself,
Like I’ve become your shadow.
Still alone,
As another summer passes away.
